www.dslrfilmnoob.com The guy’s over at CPM FILM TOOLS are always releasing new products and the Lastest one the list is the Cube Cage 3.0. The CPM FILM TOOLS Cube Cage 3.0 branches out from many of the other Camera squares on the market by using 15mm rails for its upright support. This makes the unit much lighter then many of the other Squares on the market and adds to its modular nature. The Cube Cage 3.0 also adds handle grips on the top and sides making it ideal for hand held work. As with all CPM FILM TOOLS Kits the Cube is made out of carbon fiber material making it both tough and light weight. There are plenty of mounting holes on top and rail clamps can be added for side mounting. Three things I would recommend buying with this kit: Threaded inserts: www.cpmfilmtools.com QR spacer kit: www.cpmfilmtools.com A few rod clamps: www.cpmfilmtools.com That last one is just my personal taste. I like to side mount arms to hold lighting and other random stuff. The Tekkeon 3450i Battery kit is also an interesting upgrade if you are looking to dramatically extend the run time on your DSLR rig you can find the battery here: www.cpmfilmtools.com If you go this route you’ll also need the adapter for your camera model. The Canon t2i adapter: www.amazon.com The Canon 60d/7d/5d adapter: www.amazon.com If your are interested in finding out more about CPM FILM TOOLS visit their website at: www.cpmfilmtools.com Equipment used in this video Canon 7d & t2i Canon 35mm f1.4 Sigma 24mm f1.8

I was about? to ask the same question.

onelonedork says:

My hands aren’t that stable, I tend to use a shoulder brace when i’m working on? hand held shots. I have a few damaged tendons in my right arm sorry guys.

I saw your previous video comparing the Zoom H1 to the H4n. On your past few videos I’ve noticed you using your H1 instead of the H4n. What are the reasons why you’d use your H1 over your H4n? Is it mainly for the? smaller size?

onelonedork says:

That’s a great question. The zoom h1 is smaller, runs longer on a single AA battery, and the built in microphone preforms about the same. I use my zoom h4n when I need 4 audio tracks, xlr inputs, and remote control recording. I think, in this video, it just happened to be the closest to me when I? started working.

bigbadbrucewillis says:

hey im pretty green when it comes to videography so i was wondering whats the point in buying all this stuff to make a? dslr a video camera when you can just buy a camcorder? is it the lens?

Its a whooooole new world. Camcorders? are great for family vacations and plays. This gear is at a pro level for professional videography, such as commercials, corporate videos, hi end wedding vids, etc. Its not for everyone, but its a world of diference. Trust me!
